Clients:

  1. Everyone has a path. Some paths will be easier than others. There are tools and skills that will ease the way. Not everybody will see them as valuable. Not everyone is a customer even though almost everybody could benefit. Spend time cultivating the ones that do.
  2. Know who your best clients are and give your time to them. Avoid people who are too much work for little payback. Good relationships need to be mutually beneficial. They have different needs and wants. Know what they are.
  3. Creating value for clients will increase your own value and the amount you can charge. Avoid undervaluing yourself.

You:

  1. Your mind is the chief determinate of your success. Your thinking controls your language and your behavior. Cleaning up your language and how you say what you say will do a lot to keep you on the path to success. “Garbage in; garbage out.”
  2. You are connected and in some way responsible for everything that happens in your life. If you do not change your thinking you will not change anything. Life is not random. Success isn’t random. In every instance in my life I can trace back from events and find their origin that somehow involved the way I was looking at something or thinking about it.
  3. Take care of yourself first. You cannot help others if you cannot help yourself. Taking time off is the best way to reset your enthusiasm for what you do.
  4. Some things are unexplainable because we cannot know everything. But there is always something you can do about it.
  5. Having the right mind set is only part of the equation for success. Having the right skills is necessary also. Just because you have a set of beliefs that support what you want, doesn’t mean you will be able to sustain those outcomes over time. Having a great set of money beliefs about wealth will get the dream, but money management skills and prudent money strategies will be necessary to sustain wealth creation over time.
  6. Following procedures is essential to sustaining a business. Otherwise you are just doing ‘magical thinking’.
  7. Asking for help is also essential for sustaining the right frame of mind. There are too many people in the helping professions who think they should be able to do it on their own and that to ask for help is an indication that they are a failure. Not so. First and foremost, regardless of what you do, you are a human being. The ability of a human to produce ANY results is infinite. It is easy to get off track. Having someone you can trust to talk to, will help get back on track faster.
  8. Relentless change. There is a plethora of programs that can teach people skills for success BUT if you do not practice them on a daily basis it becomes easy to end up back where you started. NLP teaches people a skill set for change. They are like a tool chest. If you don’t use them, they are useless. A screw driver only works if you pick it up and apply it to a screw.

Learning:

  1. Curiosity is the energy that motivates people. No curiosity, no motivation, no moving forward
  2. Learning something new can create a new energy and feeling of well being.
  3. Constantly up grade your skills. Learn as if you will never master something. If you do not, at some point the world will leave you behind because everything is constantly changing.
  4. Growth is a lifetime commitment. Never stop learning. Learning is a process; not an event. If you are going to be addicted to something, let it be learning. If you want to learn something well, teach it to someone.
  5. Mistakes happen in order to learn from them. Don’t be afraid to make them.

Your Business:

  1. Run your own race. Avoid comparing yourself to someone else. Find you niche and develop it. It is better to be good at one thing than average at many.
  2. Good Marketing is almost everything. Sales are as important as your product. There are many people who make great money with average products and great marketing; and many people who make a little money with great products with ineffective marketing.
  3. Think of what can happen rather than what can’t. Ask the right questions.
  4. Your first thought is the right thought. It comes out of the unconscious. All other thoughts after it are based on other factors – fear being one of them.
  5. Get out of your comfort zone. Do things that don’t feel right. If it doesn’t make sense, do it anyway. And then follow through.
  6. The more specific and ‘airtight’ your goals and outcomes are the more likely they will manifest. Goals are dreams unless there is action. Read Peter Thiel’s book: Zero to one. Practice Definite Optimism and be aware when you rely on Indefinite Optimism.
  7. There is failure only if you quit. If something not working get help.
  8. You cannot lead people past where you are. You have to feel secure in yourself before you feel secure in your environment.
  9. Most people will not care about any of the above. And that is ok.
